This is what happens when the USPS doesn't deliver a package, they claim they tried to. No card was left and no attempt was made. The package is tiny and could go in the mailbox, door delivery isn't needed and signing for it is not necessary.

This is why I hate using the USPS. Package theft or just stupid people can't do their fucking job right. Definitely, the start of a 3rd World Country. Unbelievable!!!

What is USPS and what services do they offer?

USPS, or the United States Postal Service, is the official postal service of the United States, with roots dating back over 240 years to 1775. It operates nationwide, delivering mail and packages to every address in the country, including remote areas where other carriers might not go. You can send and receive a wide range of shipments through USPS, from everyday letters and small parcels to larger packages. They offer various delivery options like First-Class Mail for letters and lightweight parcels, Priority Mail for faster delivery, and Priority Mail Express for overnight service. USPS also handles international shipments, making it a go-to choice for both individuals and businesses across the U.S. Whether you’re sending a birthday card or running an online store, USPS provides reliable, affordable shipping services that fit many needs.

Whether you’re on your phone or computer, you can check your package’s status anytime on the Parcel Monitor website or mobile app. You’ll even get email notifications whenever something changes, so you’re always in the loop without having to keep checking. Plus, if you use Gmail, Parcel Monitor can find your USPS tracking numbers automatically, which means no more copying and pasting long codes. It’s especially handy if you’re juggling shipments from multiple carriers—you can see everything together in one place. So, when you want to track USPS shipment details without hassle, Parcel Monitor makes it easy, keeping you informed and relaxed throughout your delivery journey.

What do USPS tracking statuses mean?

When you check your USPS tracking, the status "Picked Up" means your package has been collected from the sender and is now in the USPS system. "In Transit" indicates your item is moving through various USPS facilities on its way to you, so no action is needed—just sit tight. When you see "Out for Delivery," your package is with the mail carrier and should arrive today, so make sure someone’s home to receive it. If the status shows "Delivered," your package has reached its destination; check around your doorstep or with neighbors if you don’t see it. Sometimes, you might encounter "Pending," which means the shipment label has been created but USPS hasn’t received the package yet—no need to worry, just wait for the next update. Using USPS tracking helps you stay informed and plan accordingly without any guesswork.

Why is my USPS tracking not updating?

It’s totally normal to feel a bit anxious when your USPS tracking number stops updating for a while, but don’t worry—this happens more often than you might think. USPS scans packages at certain key points like sorting centers and delivery hubs, so if your parcel is moving between these spots, it might not show new updates right away. Also, weekends and holidays can slow down scanning since fewer staff are working, which means your package might be in transit without any fresh tracking info. For international shipments, customs checks can add extra delays before the updates resume. USPS usually updates tracking once or twice a day, so a gap doesn’t usually mean something’s wrong. If your package hasn’t moved for several days past the expected delivery date, then it might be worth reaching out to USPS directly to check in.

What format is a USPS tracking number?

USPS tracking numbers usually have 20 to 22 characters, combining only digits without letters. They often start with numbers like 9 or 9 followed by other digits, for example, a typical format looks like 9400 1000 0000 0000 0000 00. You can find your USPS tracking number in the shipping confirmation email from the retailer, on your receipt if you sent the package yourself, or within the order details on the seller’s website. Once you have your tracking number, just enter it above to track your USPS package and see where it is in the delivery process.

How long does USPS take to deliver?

USPS offers a range of delivery options to suit your needs, with timeframes that vary depending on the service you choose and where your package is headed. For domestic shipments, Priority Mail Express typically delivers overnight to most locations, while Priority Mail usually takes about 1 to 3 days. If you're using First-Class Mail or Media Mail, expect a bit more time—anywhere from 2 to 8 days. Internationally, delivery can take longer, often between 6 to 10 days with Priority Mail International, but customs processing and the destination country’s postal system can add extra days or weeks. Keep in mind that busy seasons like holidays can also slow things down. You can sign up for notifications to get live updates and stay in the loop about your specific package’s journey.

Is tracking a USPS parcel free?

Yes, tracking your USPS parcel on Parcel Monitor is completely free—no strings attached! You don’t need to create an account or sign up just to check your package’s journey. But if you want to make life even easier, you can connect your Gmail for free, and we’ll automatically keep an eye on all your deliveries across different carriers without you lifting a finger. How do I track a USPS parcel without a tracking number?

Losing or never receiving your USPS tracking number can be super frustrating — we totally get it! Usually, if you ordered something from a store, the tracking number pops up in a separate “your order has shipped” email, so it's worth hunting through your inbox, including spam or junk folders. If it’s nowhere to be found, don’t worry, you can always reach out to the retailer directly; they can look it up with USPS and get you that tracking info. To dodge this hassle in the future, try connecting your Gmail to Parcel Monitor — it automatically finds and tracks your USPS orders without you needing to dig up any numbers. It’s like having a personal assistant for your parcels. Give it a go and keep all your deliveries in one easy spot!

What are the alternatives to USPS in United States?

USPS is a staple for mail and parcels in the United States, known for its extensive national reach and affordable rates, especially for smaller packages and letters. While it’s a reliable choice for many, some might consider alternatives like UPS, which is praised for its speedy delivery options and strong international service. FedEx is another popular option, often favored for express shipping and robust tracking features. Then there’s Amazon Logistics, which’s rapidly growing and known for quick deliveries, especially for Prime members. Depending on your specific needs—whether it’s speed, price, or convenience—there’s plenty of choice. The great news? Parcel Monitor keeps tabs on USPS and all these carriers in one spot, so you can effortlessly track your parcel without hopping between different apps or websites.
